More New Testament Proverbs. We get so caught up in reading the passage, that we miss some of these great statements that qualify as “New Testament Proverbs.”
Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
Matthew 5:18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
John 8:47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
1 Cor. 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
2 Tim. 3:15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Peter 1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.
Rev. 3:22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Rev. 19:10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
